Limited by teachers and other resources, the education development in the mountainous areas is unbalanced. Many schools only have Chinese and Maths courses. Art education and ability training is a pressing issue for schools. But teachers in the mountainous areas have seldom received any professional training and do not know how to guide the children to be creative, especially in art.

The Maitian Education Foundation has collected many of the unpolished paintings of children from the mountainous areas over the six years, held national exhibitions and raised funds through which. They also carried out a variety of art education activities and classes at different levels and scales. This series of courses generally referred to as Rainbow Program, with the hope to build a rainbow bridge for the children in mountainous areas. It is implemented by training the local teachers and simplifying the courses to achieve the effect of art education.
