Chayuan Primary School

Time: 2015-08-05

Chayuan Primary School is a complete primary school founded with the full funding of a group of kind-hearted people from Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and other places in 2008 after the “May 12” earthquake and was recognized by the local education sectors; the school was put into use in September 2010, with more than 30 students enrolled so far (preschool – Grade 5). After 5 years, the school buildings are ageing to a certain degree. Therefore, we intended to conduct a comprehensive inspection and maintenance of the school buildings and facilities during this summer vacation, focusing on transforming the toilets. There is a small river running through Chayuan Village where the school is located. There is plenty of rainfall in the mountainous areas. The rising water after heavy rain makes the upstream students impossible to cross the river to go to school. So we will set up a pontoon bridge in the upper reaches for the students and villagers to cross the river. After nearly a month’s construction, the pontoon bridge was completed as scheduled and passed the quality acceptance. The renovation of the campus was completed before the start of school and provided clean and convenient toilets for the children.
